The 2023 Marquis de Terme has a perfumed, floral bouquet, with wilted violets infusing the pretty blackberry and raspberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins and fine acidity. It's quite detailed and mineral-driven towards the finish. Tasted twice, a second bottle revealed more nuance and complexity, and I adjust my score accordingly. I much prefer this 2023 to the 2022.
91-93 Neal Martin.
The 2023 Marquis de Terme is a dense, powerful Margaux. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather, espresso and cloves are all amplified, lending the 2023 tons of textural volume and richness. All the elements are so well balanced. This is a fine vintage for Marquis de Terme, a wine that has improved markedly in recent years.
92-94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
Glass-staining rich plum colour, this has clear structure and concentration, very much classic Left Bank in its fruit character and tannic grip, good balance, enjoyable, austere right now but will fill out through the mid palate over ageing, and has fennel and black pepper spice to round things off with a punch. This year includes the Marojallia vines for the first time.

Dark blackcurrants and black cherries on the nose. Smooth and succulent, juicy and really quite bright and focussed. Clean and pure, there’s good grip but lots of freshness and lift too. Tannins are still quite firm and edgy, but they do well to support the fruit and I like the chalkiness on the palate. A little subdued at this point but friendly and will be lovely to approach in a few years.
