Peter Maude Fine Wines
2021, Domaine Arnaud Baillot, BOURGOGNE, Pinot Noir, 'La Montagne'
Located in Dezize-les-Maranges on the highest point of the village, this single vineyard represent the most southerly end of the Côte de Beaune.
The vines were planted in the 1960's. 100% Pinot Noir. 12 months in 20% new oak.
Light smoky-earth with a touch of sweet rhubarb. Crisp mid palate with a hint of stem - but not in a bad way - adds freshness. *** JK 26/5/23.
Fresh exotic aromas. A little smoke, green capsicum and liquorice. Super light and easy drinking. Jo Charvill 26/5/23.
Very nice and fresh drinking. Finishes well. Peter Maude 26/5/23.
80% whole bunch, 20% destemmed. They needed to do a lot of sorting.
Clear ruby appearance. Fragrant, pure bright red fruit and cassis on the nose. Mineral and savoury on the attack with more red fruit evident. A little grippy on the finish with lingering tannins. Katharine Maude (at the domaine 07/10/2022).
