Pomerol
Across the Gironde river known as the Right Bank this is an appellation carrying both elite estates and ‘garagistes’, typically with vines benefiting from the incredibly dense blue clay soils where Merlot and Cabernet Franc flourish. Although ignored in the 1855 classification, its reputation is very strong with wines such as Ch Petrus, Ch. Lafleur, Ch. Conseillante and Vieux Chateau Certan.
