2021, Domaine Jean-Louis Chave, CÔTE-DU-RHÔNE, 'Mon Coeur'

50% Syrah, 50% Grenache. Meaning "my heart", this wine has a savoury aspect with lovely dark fruits with a hint of spice.

Red colour with a little purple; the nose has an incense, pine woods air, with decisive cassis fruit, a cool edge to it, a white pepper backdrop. The palate engages well, presents a fluid run of dark berry fruit, cut in the tannins, a fresh burst into the finish, a note of fruit gum style gras there. It’s very coherent between nose and palate, is a road runner with bright black fruits and a sprinkle of chalky tannins. Negociants NZ.
