Bordeaux Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
The 2022 L’Esprit de Chevalier Blanc is bright and beautifully focused, with the same kind of energy that has made the Grand Vin here one of the epic whites of Bordeaux. Lemon peel, chalk, mint, white pepper and jasmine are some of the many notes that run through this gorgeous steely Blanc. 90-92 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
The 2022 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a well-defined bouquet with lemon zest, freshly-sliced pear and orange rind. Good complexity for a Deuxième Vin. The palate is well balanced with a pithy entry, peach skin and lemongrass touches. The 2022 is complex and focused with a fine persistence on the finish. This is a strong showing in a vintage, not necessarily geared toward the dry whites. 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous.
Tangy and forward, nice and bright with citrus fruits, lemon rind, orange juice and grapefruit pith. Has a really lovely construction, feels serious and well worked with underlying power and good concentration and bitterness on the end which I love. 91 Georgina Hindle, Decanter.
