Domaine Weinbach
Domaine Weinbach lies at the foot of the famous hill of Schlossberg, surrounded by vines and roses. The 'Weinbach' in the name is a little stream which runs through the property where vines have been tended since the 9th century. The buildings the Faller family now occupy were originally a Clos des Capucins monastery built in 1621 by the monks, until they were dispersed during the French Revolution and the estate was sold. Bought by the Faller brothers in 1898 the property has remained in the family ever since. The domaine really got going, in its present state, after World War II due to the efforts of Théo Faller - who increased the holdings and improved the quality of the wines. Most recently the domaine has been successfully run by his widow Colette Faller and her two daughters, Catherine and Laurence (who was the winemaker). Unfortunately Colette and Laurence both passed away unexpectedly in 2015. Catherine Faller and her sons Théo and Eddy run the estate today - continuing to make changes, buying new plots and maintaining the high standards of all their cuvées.
