Ladoix-Serrigny, Côte-de-Beaune, Bourgogne, France
“Rien de grande ne se fait sans passion,” Their motto is: meaning nothing great is produced without passion.
The village of Ladoix-Serrigny is the location of Maison Capitain-Gagnerot which was built in 1802. Today, the domaine comprises 16 hectares of vineyards in full ownership, and it is currently run by Pierre-François and Delphine, Patrice Capitain-Gagnerot's adult children, supported by their spouses.
The family can be traced back to the 17th Century for 200 years small parcels of vineyards have been gradually acquired and today the total landunder vine in the name of the Maison amounts to 16 hectares. There are 20 crus vinified of which five are white. Just under two hectares are located within Corton while they also have holdings in Echezeaux, Corton Les Renardes and Corton-Charlemagne.
The wide range of wines are distinctively styled by their light extraction and light use of oak. Their grapes are 100% de- stemmed and the wines aredelicate, refined and possess great finesse and character, and are very good value too.
