Last Year EP $49.00-
This 4.65 hectare Pomerol property has been owned by the Moueix family since 1953 when it was purchased with Trotanoy. It is planted entirely with Merlot vines on gravel above clay.
Plenty of blackberry and black-olive character to this, with cedar and sandalwood undertones. Medium to full body, firm and creamy tannins and a fresh, linear finish. More fruit and tannin at the end, but in a reserved way.
94-95 James Suckling.
The 2023 Lagrange (Pomerol) is a bright, punchy Pomerol. Vibrant acids run through a core of red-toned fruit, blood orange and pomegranate. Exotic floral notes add further lift. There is perhaps a bit of edginess in the tannin, but that also gives this Lagrange drive and persistence. This is very nicely done.
90-92 Antonio Galloni.
