2022, Domaine Pierre Guillemot, SAVIGNY-LÈS-BEAUNE, 'Les Grands Picotins'

Bright energised purple, a little deeper than the Vieilles Vignes cuvée. The nose has a deeper fruit more raspberry at first though the strawberry notes return on the palate. A few tannins here, altogether more gravitas. Fine length. A little more iron in the soil gives this additional structure. Drink from 2027-2032.

Unwinding in the glass with aromas of cassis, dark berries, petals and spices, the 2022 Savigny-lès-Beaune Grands Picotins is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with good concentration and powdery structuring tannins that assert themselves on the finish.
