Mid crimson purple. The fruit takes some teasing out, a little nuttiness. Quite good concentration of brisk raspberry fruit, a little oakiness, some depth, higher acidity, continues well at the back. *** 88-91 Jasper Morris.
The 2021 Beaune La Montée Rouge has a bright nose with raspberry and cranberry scents; subtle undergrowth aromas come through with time. The palate is medium-bodied and nicely balanced, with pliant tannins and a pretty, dark cherry and blueberry finish. Not long-term, but quite endearing. 88-90 Neal Martin, Vinous.
