The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté, matured in concrete eggs, lacks a bit of varietal expression on the nose. The palate is better, with a grass-like texture, fine acidity and light tropical notes on the finish. It just needs more tension. 85 Neal Martin, Vinous (2023).
In bottle having been raised in a concrete egg, no wood. Pale colour with a light apple nose, Some yellow fruit, less acidity than many an Aligoté. It was kept on lees which has fleshed it out a little, especially at the finish. *** 86 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (2023).
