2023, Domaine de la Vougeraie, PINOT NOIR, 'Terres de Famille'

The 2023 Bourgogne Rouge Terre de Famille excludes fruit from the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits this year due to limited space. Bottled in July, it boasts pretty, slightly exotic red cherry and kirsch scents that maybe translate the heatwaves, though it's not overripe. The palate is sweet on the entry with red cherries and white pepper, gentle grip and a spicy finish. Fine. 85 Neal Martin, Vinous (2024).

In bottle since July. No Hautes Côtes de Beaune is included in it this year, just grapes from below Volnay, Premeaux, Gilly-les-Citeaux and Brochon. Medium red in colour, with a light, fragrant nose. Quite light on the palate too this year. *** 86 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (2024).
