2018, La Chablisienne, CHABLIS, Grand Cru, 'Château Grenouilles'

$138

La Chablisienne co-operative purchased their significant holding (7.20ha) of Grenouilles. The vines date from 1945 up to 2007.

A chiselled wine with a marine aspect, weighty and concentrated with nicely balanced acidity.

Whereas the other wines are made from fruit belonging to La Chablisienne’s adherents, the co-operative actually purchased their significant holding (7.20ha) of Grenouilles. The vines date from 1945 up to 2007, though the youngest have not been included in the blend. Otherwise all is made as one wine. 30% is made in barrel, the rest in tank. Pale colour with lime notes. The slightly cheesy bouquet, soon blows off, revealing, some of the classic spice from this vineyard. Trenchant cut at the finish, fine opulence of white fruit through the middle, a complete rendition of Grenouilles. Very impressive weight and length **** 94 Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy (2020).
