2022, Domaine de la Vougeraie, CHARMES-CHAMBERTIN, 'Les Mazoyères', Grand Cru

The 2022 Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyères Grand Cru comes from the oldest vines, some 124 years old. The complex bouquet offers blackberry, raspberry, loam and black truffle shavings. This gains complexity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins framing the mainly black fruit, laced with cracked black pepper and clove. Insistent grip towards the finish that is quasi-Latricières in style. This will require several years in bottle. 93-95 Neal Martin, Vinous.
