Vinified with 30% whole bunch, the 2023 Charmes-Chambertin les Mazoyères Grand Cru comes from the oldest vines on the estate, planted 125 years ago. This is very succinct on the nose with red berries, brown spices and light autumn leaf scents, discrete but wonderfully focused. The palate is medium-bodied and very well balanced with finely chiseled tannins. A little spicier than its peers, this feels long and tender, with a dash of white pepper and clove lingering on the aftertaste. Very classy. 93-95 Neal Martin, Vinous (2024).

Beautiful mid purple. The nose takes some coaxing but there is evidently a lot going on. Up to half whole bunches. Sweetly sensual on the palate, while the whole bunch effect provides relief on the palate, with constant little wavelets of flavour. The fruit is mostly red but some darker berries are mixed in. Balanced, persistent and as usual with this cuvee, very fine. **** 94-97 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (2024).
