Peter Maude Fine Wines

2022, Domaine du Pélican, PINOT NOIR, 'Clos Saint-Laurent'

$89

From the domaine's Clos Saint Laurent parcel located behind the winery, at an altitude of approximately 340-380 m. The soil is made of fallen rocks of Bajocian limestone over grey marls (Lias) and the vines are between 10 and 45 years old. Elevage is in Burgundian barrels (60%) and 40% in a vat. No new oak is used.

Earthy nose with cedar wood and spice. Sweet cherries and hints of wild berry flavours.  Good acidity and finishes nicely.  Very enjoyable.
J Charvill, May 2024.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Arbois Clos Saint-Laurent is exquisite. Crushed violets, red cherry and plummy gradations rise from the glass. Smooth and refined, the medium-bodied 2022 provides pleasure right out of the gate and closes with a lively and refreshing finale. 90 Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous (2024).
