2023, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard, CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET, 1er Cru, 'Morgeot'

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru Rouge has slightly more reduction than the Clos Saint-Jean. It's more introspective at the moment. The palate is fresh, tensile, quite lively and focused. There's a little more mineralité here with a precise finish. This is well worth seeking out. 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous (2024).

Ooh - that’s so mineral but also infused with florals. Wider, more concentrated and slightly cushioned. Broad and sustained - that’s a slow-burner of a haunting finish. A very different style that I’d keep a couple of years before drinking. Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report.
