The 2023 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has more reduction on the nose compared to the Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet, with greater intensity and touches of egg yolk and light yellow fruit. The palate is very well balanced with a keen thread of acidity. There is lovely poise and weight, if not quite the "ambition" demonstrated by the previous vintage. Still—a classy, sophisticated Chevalier. 93-95 Neal Martin, Vinous (2024).
Pale lemon colour. A minor reduction currently holds back the nose. This is vivacious in bouquet yet with considerable power, quite a robust style of white-fruited Chevalier-Montrachet. There is a fine back-bone here though not quite the individuality of the marvellous Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. **** 94-96 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (2024)
