2023, Maison Benjamin Leroux, CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET, 'Tête du Clos'
$273.70 inc. GST
Fresh pale colour before a nose which shows an immediate opulence. Tête du Clos was picked, like the Baudines, a little bit faster, so touches 14%. This has a depth of gracious opulence with a richer fruit, and reasonable balance at the long finish. Drink from 2030-2035. Tasted Oct 2024. *** 90-93 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy.
The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Tête du Clos 1er Cru has a very different bouquet than the Les Baudines. Less flattering but perhaps better defined with crushed stone. Peach skin and light chamomile scents. Understated and elegant in style, the palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. It builds up a bit of steam toward the finish. Delicious. 92-94 Neal Martin.
