One barrel. Pale lemon colour. A lovely stony note behind the perfectly judged ripeness of the fruit. The intensity is also well judged, not excessive but there is plenty of wine in the glass, and more details keep emerging, a little bit of citrus, perhaps even more orange zest, then back to the freshly ripe apples. Fine and long. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Oct 2024. **** 94-96 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy.
The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from the lieu-dit of Les Longuettes. Struck flint and glimpses of yellow fruit open on the nose as this fleshes out nicely with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite poised with hints of Clementine and quince toward the light spiced finish. This will give 15 to 20 years of drinking pleasure. 93-95 Neal Martin.
