A lovely concentration of fruit on the palate, fleshing out nicely, with a well-constructed finish on gentle tannins. Drink from 2028-2033. The 2023 Volnay Village offers black cherries and blueberries on the nose, with hints of wilted violet. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of black cherry fruit laced with liquorice. Perhaps it's just a little "modern" in style toward the glossy finish, bearing the mark of the heat wave more than other cuvées. 87-89 Neal Martin.
