A subtle though still easily perceptible application of wood is present on the spicy and slightly riper aromas of poached plum, the sauvage and a whiff of smoke. There is both good energy and detail to the delicious though not especially dense flavours that still manage to display good power on the firm, dusty and youthfully austere finale that would also benefit from having better depth. 90 Allen Meadows, Burghound.
