The 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru can be labeled either Domaine Pierre Morey or Morey Blanc, even though it is exactly the same wine. It comes from a blend of young and older vines picked on the same date. The detailed bouquet brings crushed limestone, Golden Delicious and subtle nectarine scents. The well-balanced palate has a fine spine of acidity lending this tension from start to finish, with a dash of spice and a lovely sour lemon note lending tension and nervosité towards the finish. Excellent. 92-94 Neal Martin, Vinous (2023).
From young vines in the Clos Poirier, the 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru delivers notes of pear, peach and waxy citrus rind mingled with freshly baked bread and nutmeg. Full-bodied, layered and muscular, with a satiny attack that segues into a fleshy core of fruit that's framed by bright acids and chalky extract, it's a serious, structured wine built for the cellar. 93-96 William Kelley, Wine Advocate (2024).
