2021, Domaine Arnaud Baillot, PERNAND-VERGELESSES, Rouge, 'A ma fille Mahaut'

One of the most picturesque villages in Burgundy. Organic agriculture. Manual harvesting with grape sorting. Traditional fermentation of 15 days in stainless steel tank. No punching (pigeage), pumping over twice a day until end of fermentation. 25% new oak.

Lifted nose - fine Burgundian aromas! Good concentration - light sweetness mid-palate. Creamy fruit and wild strawberry notes. Juicy. Quite delicious. ****½ JK 26/5/23.

Light cherry in colour. Sweet cherry aromas. Pretty violets bouncing out of the glass. A touch of soft exotic spices and smoke.  Melts in the mouth with a reasonably long wild raspberry finish. Jo Charvill 26/5/23.

Ruby with violet rim. Minty sweet nose, a little orange too. Supple and légère (light), soft red fruit, mineral finish. Katharine Maude (at the domaine 07/10/2022).
