The 2023 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru includes 80% whole bunch, which really complements the aromatics. Gorgeous brambly red fruit, forest floor and crushed stone aromas build in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins. It is a little compact at the moment, with plenty of stem influence on the finish. Maybe too much? Let's see, once in bottle. 90-92 Neal Martin.
