Dense purple, though the nose needs and will get a freshening. The fruit though shows its paces in the mouth, with all the nobility of fine Vosne-Romanée, very sensual but with a backbone built for the long term. The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village contains around 40% whole bunches. This feels quite fresh on the nose. There is fine mineralité, and the stems are better subsumed than the Nuits Saint-Georges. The palate is medium-bodied and cohesive with sappy red fruit, fine acidity and good body on the finish. This is one of the picks from Leroux. 89-91 Neal Martin.
