Peter Maude Fine Wines
2021, Château Les Trois Croix, FRONSAC
Bordeaux Blend: Merlot, Cabernet Franc.
Cloves, white pepper, raspberry, slate, crushed rocks, tobacco, spice, this is well handled, more austere than the past few years, a little austere in its limestone dominance, but well worked and enjoyable. 91 Jane Anson.
The 2021 Les Trois Croix is much more subdued compared to recent vintages that I have tasted at this stage. The palate is chewy on the entry, quite concentrated and muscular with a saline finish. 88-90 Neal Martin.
Aromas of cherries, berries, loamy soil and toasty new oak introduce the 2021 Les Trois Croix, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy Fronsac with good energy and plenty of charm. 87-89 William Kelley.
