Peter Maude Fine Wines
2022, Maison Benjamin Leroux, NUITS-SAINT-GEORGES, 1er Cru, 'Aux Boudots'
The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru has pleasing transparency on the nose, more tertiary in character, with good mineralité. The palate is well-balanced, the 50% whole bunches very well integrated, fanning out beautifully on the finish with a dash of white pepper and bay leaf. Excellent. 91-93 Neal Martin, Vinous (2023).
Medium deep purple. The bouquet has its normal Boudots habit of flirting with the best of Vosne while resting on its Nuits structure. This is complete across the palate, showing the oak a little to begin with, but the real wine comes storming back with perfectly pitched acidity. 4 barrels made. **** 93-95 Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy (2023).
