From a blend of Très Girard, Les Cognées and Chenevery
From Très Girard, Cognées and the village part of Chenevery. Three quarters whole bunch on millerand berries. Bright purple, with a faint whole bunch volatility. Then a bundle of dark raspberry energy filling the mouth, through to a long, distinguished finish. The clay soil adds a dimension of depth. Drink from 2030-2035.

Here too the nose of red and dark cherry is both fresh and bright with a broader range of floral elements. Once again the medium weight flavours possess a beguiling texture that contrasts moderately with the firm, youthfully austere and firm finale. This solidly persistent effort could also use better depth so at least a few years of cellaring are recommended. Outstanding.

The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Vieilles Vignes comes from three lieux-dits within the appellation. The bouquet offers finely delineated blackberry, raspberry and forest floor scents, with just a hint of melted tar in the background. The palate is medium-bodied, rounded and fleshy with pliant tannins.
