Oddly enough more of a red crimson colour, lighter than most of the Moreys. 90% whole bunches. A little oak and some lighter fresh red berries on the nose, showing the elegance of this Vosne side vineyard. I am struck this year by how different is the Murgers in style compared to the other Lignier-Michelot wines. It is not massively concentrated but very graceful, almost ethereal, and entirely in little red fruits, including my favourite alpine strawberries. All about the length! Drink from 2032-2038.

A much earthier and more sauvage-inflected nose freely offers up its ripe essence of red pinot fruit and softly spiced aromas. There is good energy and an attractive mouthfeel to the middle weight flavours that do display good length on the balanced finish.

The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Murgey 1er Cru has an open-knit bouquet with redcurrant jam, strawberry and light pressed flower scents. The palate is balanced with a lightly spiced entry and fine acidity. It's quite fleshy with a hint of dark chocolate toward the finish.
