Pale in colour, with significant weight on the nose. But nothing compared to what the palate delivers, kept lively by a little wash of lemon. The fruit absolutely dominates the middle of the palate, then carries through to a long finish, with just a little warmth, even though picked on 31st August. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Oct 2024. **** 93-95 Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy.
The 2023 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has an airy, stony nose with touches of petrichor... I'd like a little more fruit. The palate is more expressive with chamomile-tinged citrus fruit, a fine thread of acidity and a tingle of stem ginger that enhances the finish. There is fine cohesion here. This Meursault should age well in bottle. 91-93 Neal Martin.
