2022, Tenuta Luce, 'Lucente', TOSCANA IGT

This is a mid-tier blend of Merlot and Sangiovese. The Tenuta Luce 2022 Lucente opens to an inky black appearance. The wine shows oak-driven aromas of cedar and pinewood. But the effect is quite soft and hydrated. You get barbecued flavours and a hint of hickory meat. All the elements are there to underline an international-minded red blend. Red fruits and chalky tannins, this has elements of tobacco, vanilla and cool purple fruit. Well made with a direct line from start to finish. Balanced in terms of ripe fruit with hint of chocolate and wet stones on the finish. 90 Georgina Hindle, Decanter (2025).
